Dave has worked in various financial service and retail profit protection positions for over thirty years. This has seen Dave occupy a number of roles from leading field-based investigation functions, through to managing crime intelligence teams.
Dave joined the retailer The Works in January 2022. Prior to this Dave headed up the loss prevention function for Card Factory. Dave took up Card Factory appointment in 2016 and by 2018 had built a function that received the external award of the UK’s Retail Risk Team of the year, whilst Dave himself was awarded, at the same time, the UK’s Risk Director of the year award.
Dave is passionate around supporting retail colleagues in keeping safe from crime and empowering individuals to do the right thing in line with simple, transparent policies and workable fit for purpose procedures. Dave has a track record of working closely and collaboratively with stakeholders to better understand all areas of loss and to support the design and delivery of interventions focused on reducing risk and maximising profit.
Academically qualified and a holder of a higher degree in crime risk management Dave is adept at crafting risk mitigation in line with crime.
